FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS
The following
scholarships and financial assistance are awarded to enable the
students studying here as per the rules. Students participating in
strikes or other unhealthy activities will run the risk of losing their
scholarship.
National Scholarship
Government of
India initiated the National
Scholarship Scheme in the year 1962 in order to provide incentive to
the exceptionally meritorious and poor students. This facility is
extended to the students whose parental income is below Rs.25,000/-
p.a. Students whose parents have more income are however eligible to
get proficiency certificates from Govt. of India along with a prize
Rs.100/-. The income stipulation is not applicable to the students
of M.A., M.Sc. and M.Com. classes. The awards are made on the result
of HSC, HSSC and degree examination at the following rates. It may
however be mentioned that if the annual income of the parents in
Rs.25,000 p.a, due to retirement or death, the scholar who has
previously been awarded the merit certificate and national prize
will be entitled to
receive the scholarship dues from the date from which the situations
occurs. The value of scholarship differs from class to class and
changes from time to time. At every stage of education, the
hostellers get more than the
Day Scholars.
College Merit Scholarship
It is awarded on the basis of
merit to the students passing
the annual HSC examination as a regular candidate. Those continuing
in the evening college are not eligible for award of such
scholarships. The value of the scholarship is Rs.40/- per month, It
is awarded for a period of 2 years with effect from 1st. june of the
year. Senior merit scholarship is awarded to the students on the
basis of their merits in the annual CHSE. The value of the
Scholarship is Rs.50 per month. It is awarded for three years
Private candidates and those pursuing studies in evening/morning
college are not eligible.
National Scholarship to the Primary and Secondary School Teacher’s
Children
The students who have
passed and secured 60 percent
of marks in the aggregate at the Annual H.S:C. examination are
eligible to apply. The applications are considered in order of
merit. The value of scholarship varies from time to time as per
Govt. orders.
Stipend to the Freedom Fighter’s Children
These stipends
are awarded to the deserving
students who are the children of Freedom Fighters. Prescribed forms
for the scholarship are available in the office of the D.H.E.,
Orissa. The applications are to be made through the principals of
the respective colleges. The application forms should be accompanied
by
i. Attested copy of the mark sheet of qualifying examination.
ii. Certificate in support of the parent’s income.
iii. Certificate regarding receipt of such stipends previously.
iv. Pension payment order(with no. and date) of the parents.
Applications are to be made after publication of the results of the
annual H.S.C, CHSE(H.S.), B.A., B.Sc. and other equivalent
examination. The
value of Scholarship changes from time to time.
Exemption of Tuition Fees to Children of Army Personnel
The concession is given to the
children and dependants of Army Personnel who are in active service.
The exemption is in respect
of fees already paid by the students in the institutions.
Educational Concession to the Children and Dependants of Ex-service
defence personnel
This concession by way of Book grant is awarded to the children of
ex-service men. The father of the students should apply to the
concerned institutions enclosing certificate from the District
Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen’s Board of the Local District
Magistrate the value of scholarship differs from class to class and
changes from time to time.
Scholarship for Orthopaedically handicapped (State Govt.)
The scholarships are awarded
to the students passing the annual HSC examination and annual CHS
examination. The applicant should be within 30 years of age and
should have secured at least 40% of marks in the above examinations
the value of scholarship Rs.30/- per month.
Scholarship for Orthopaedically Handicapped (Govt. of India)
The scholarship @ Rs.40/-p.m. is awarded
to the blind, deaf and orthopaedically handicapped students for
their general and professional courses. The candidate should be a
citizen of India and his age should be within 14-30 years. The
scholarships are tenable for continuance of study in its equivalent
examination and degree P.G. course (excluding research course
leading to Ph.D.) Medical & Engineering. The candidate should have
secured at least 40% of marks at the previous Annual Examination.
Hindi & Sanskrit Scholarship (Govt. of !India)
Students of non Hlndi speaking states taking Hindi as one of the
subjects are awarded this scholarship on the result of H.S.C, and
Higher Secondary Examinations. The value of scholarship at +2 stage
is Rs.50/per month and Rs.75/- per month at degree stage.
Merit Scholarship
Indian School Certificate Examination
This scholarship is awarded to the students standing first in the
State in the Indian School Certificate Examiration. The value of the
scholarship is Rs.15 p.m. and is awarded for a period of one year
with effect from 1st. June of the year.
National Loan Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to meritorious students securing at
least 50% of marks provided their parental income is below
Rs.25,000/per annum. In case of P.G. students there is no
restriction of income. The awards are made on the result of the
following examination undergraduate stage.
1. HSC and SSC examinations conducted by the Board of Secondary
Education, Orissa.
2. H.S. examination both in Arts and Science.
This scholarship is awarded as per the following.
Stage of Education D.S Hosteller H.S. T.D.C.and equivalent
examination 50/ month 60/ month
Teacher’s Children Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to the children of teachers of Primary
school , High school or Secondary schools, whose aggregate marks
must be at least 60% in the HSC examination on all Orissa basis.
3.3.13. National Science Talent Scholarship
It is awarded on the basis of a competitive examination held on the
first Sunday of each Calendar year. A cash of Rs.100/-is given as
financial assistance to the students who have secured at least 70%
marks in the previous HSC examination.
Jindal Scholarship
A student admitted at H.S., 1st. year or T.D.C. 1st. year stage of
this college securing a 1st class and above 60% of marks in
qualifying examination, can apply for Jindal Scholarship awarded by
S.J.Jindal Trust, Bangalore. He should apply on prescribed form
available in accounts section of this college soon after admitted in
this college.
Post Matric Scholarship
This is awarded to the
SC/ST students both at H.S.
stage and T.D.C. stage. The students are to apply through the
principal for getting such scholarship.
Memorial Awards
R.N.S. Burma
Memorial Award- A Sum of Rs.200
is given to the best graduate of the college every year.The students
who secures the highest marks in Oriya Honours in final degree
examination is also awarded another R.N.S. Burma Memorial Award.
Anasuya Dash Memorial Award- is given to the student who secures the
highest marks in English Honours every year.
Prafulla Kumar Pattanaik Award- is given to the students securing
the highest marks in the History Honours every year.
N.S.S Award- Two best volunteers in N.S.S. are awardedon the basis
of performance and activities( one from Girls wing and one
from Boy's wing). |
