THREE YEAR DEGREE COURSE

PART – I

D.1. CORRESPONDENCE

               All correspondence in connection with admission should be addressed to the Principal, Godavarish Mahavidyalaya, Banpur, Khurda, Pin – 752031 by designation and not by name.

D.2. APPLICATION FORM FOR ADMISSION:-

       i.    The requisite application form for admission can be had from the college office on payment of  Rs. 110 /-  in person on working days from 11 A.M to 2 P.M  till reopening of the college/ 15th day of publication of results of qualifying examination, whichever   is later.

      ii. Application forms can be obtained by ordinary/registered post by sending Bank Draft for Rs.110/- and Rs. 30/- by ordinary post and registered post  respectively in favour of

           the principal and payable at the S.B.I. Balugaon (Code 3311) branch along with self   addressed envelop of 25X12 cm. size within 7 days of publication of respective results.

III)  Application form can be downloaded from our web site. Such form must be attached with  a demand draft of rupees one hundred ten (Rs. 110/-) in favour of “Principal” Godavaris   Mahavidyalaya, Banpur and payable at SBI, Balugaon (Code No. 3311).

iV.  A  candidate who should be considered for admission into more than one stream     should apply in separate forms.

V.  A candidate who wants to be considered for both physical Science & Life Science     groups (TDC) should apply in separate forms.

D.3DATE OF SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM

   Prescribed Application forms for admission should reach the Principal within 14  days of publication of results of Qualifying Examination or reopening of the college,     whichever is later or before the date by the Principal.

D.4. INSTRUCTION FOR FILLING UP OF APPLICATION FORM

      a. All the required particulars must be correctly filled in by the applicant.

      b. The postal address of the candidate must be clearly written on the index and information   cards.

      c. The applicant must put his/her full signature on all Xerox copies enclosed.

      d. In case of three Year Degree Course (TDC) admission, Xerox copy if HSC Board    Certificate must be attached.

      e. Postage stamp of Rs.6/- to be affixed on intimation letter.

      f. Original documents are to be produced at the time of admission.

      g. The applicant must put his/her full signature with date in the specified column in the       application form.

      h. The applicant/guardian or father should put his/her full signature in the undertaking    format

      i.  Students of this college to whom CLC etc. Has not been issued must write his/her class,  Roll No. and year of admission on the top right hand corner of the application form.

Note: Furnishing in correct information of suppression of facts shall invite penal action     and render the selection invalid.

D.5.LIST OF ENCLOSURES TO BE SUBMITTED WITH APPLICATION FORMS.

       a.   Money receipt in support of application form in original

       b.   Four numbers of passport size photographs.

      c. Attested Xerox copies of the following (Check list)

1)      College Leaving Certificate (CLC)

2)      Mark Sheet of qualifying examination.

3)      Conduct certificate issued by institution last attended.

4)      HSC Pass certificate/Mark Sheet.

5)      Caste certificate from Tahasildar (In case of S.C./S.T. applicant)

6)      Scout/NCC/Sports certificate.

7)      Disable certificate from C.D.M.O.

8)     Any other document relevant for selection.

 

D.6. rejection of application: -

a)      Incomplete form and form not accompanied by required certificates/ testimonials will not be considered for admission.

b)      Application form received after the last date will be summarily rejected.

D.7 documents/ testimonials to be produced at the time of admission: -

a)     All original certificate of which Xerox copies are submitted as per the list of enclosures herein.

b)     Migration Certificate if migrated from other Boards/Examining body.

c)      Identity card in case of the old students who have taken CLC.

d)     Any other documents which may be relevant and as specified in the intimation letter.

D.8 forfeiture of claim of admission: -

a)      A candidate shall forfeit his/her claim if he/she fails to take admission on the specified date and specified time as intimated.

b)     Postal delay or non delivery of intimation letter is not responsibility of the Principal.

D.9 PRINCIPLES OF SELECTION: -

a)      It is as per prescribed by the Government, Merit and conduct shall be remain criteria for selection In no case admission can be claimed as a matter of right.

b)      All selections shall be provisional.

c)      The Principal reserves the right to refuse admission to any applicant whose antecedent are doubtful without giving any reason thereto.

D.10 RESERVATION OF SEATS: -

             8% of seat for S.C. and 12% of seats for S.T. applicant are reserved. Reservation of seats shall be governed by the rules and instructions of the Government from time to time.

2.11 WEIGHTAGE OF % OF MARK: -

a)      Over and above the percentage of aggregate marks secured, appropriate weightage of marks shall be commuted subject to the rule and instruction of Government from time to time under different categories at the time of selection.

b)      Weightage of marks to be recommended by the asmission committee shall be given to the students of this college to students of the feeder schools for admission into H.S. stream subjects to approval of the Principal.

c)      Weightage doesn’t confer any right of preference.

d)     Besides the above, the Principal may communicate to the admission committee regarding weightage to the students of this college as per G.B. resolution of 1998 before the selection for admission.

 2.12INTIMATION REGARDING SELECTION/ADMISSION: -

a)      Intimation letter indicating date and time of admission will be sent Under Certificate of Posting to the selected candidate.

b)      The list of the selected candidate will be published in the college notice board.

c)      Candidates are advised to go through the college notice board from time to time to avoid postal delay or loss of the intimation letter.

d)     In case the candidates do not get their intimation letter for admission within a week after the last date of submission, they are directed to contact with the college office either in person or by post.

 2.13 PERSONAL APPEARANCE: -

             Candidates selected for admission are required to face an interview with Principal and/ or the admission committee along with parents/natural guardian on date of admission.

  2.14 EXTENSION OF ADMISSION: -

             Ordinary no extension of time/date is allowed. However, the Principal reserves the right to extend the admission date at this discretion. But in all such hard cases allotment of seats may remain in force on written request for seven days from the original date of admission on payment of Rs.5/- per day and Rs. 30/- per Week.

  2.15 UNDERTAKING: -

             The undertaking in the body of the applicant form is to be sighed by the student as well as father/mother/legal guardian ti the effect that the student shall abide by the rules of the college/college hostel and regarding prohibition of involvement in mischievous acts such as ragging.

  2.16 IMPORTANT INFORMATION: -

a)      In no case admission can be claimed as a matter of right.

b)      An applicant may be refused admission without assigning any reason.

c)      With regard to any thing not covered in the prospectus/any dispute in the interpretation of rules, the decision of the Principal is final.

d)      Any of the rules and regulations in this prospectus may be changed at short notice/without any notice.

e)      The decision of the Principal in all matters regarding admission is final and binding.

     N.B.     proper care should be taken to specified the choice of subject in order of performance in the application form for selection of honours. No Further application shall be invited/ entertained.

Note:- Compulsory subject where applicable, pass subject and elective subjects allowed shall be notified at the time of notification of honors selection. Change of Honors subjects (Before and after the selection)  shall not ordinarily be allowed as it also involves the change of subjects combination (Pass and Elective).

  

iii. Career oriented course

(self finacnig subjects)

Science Strem (life Science Group)

             Industrial fish and fisheries ( 30 Seats) sponsored by U.G.C. as career oriented course is being imparted from 1996-97. Fees shall be collected on notification from the selected students after the general admission is over.

 iv.Career oriented programme

(add-on –course )

(self finacnig subjects)

             The U.G.C. has permitted to impart career oriented course (add-on-course) for Arts/ Science stream in the area of Tourism & Childcare leading to certificate/ Diploma/Advanced Diploma from the current session 2007-08.

             Required Fees shall be collected on notification from the selected students after the admission is over. The prospectus and forms will be available in the college office on payment of Rs.20/- each just after the general admission producer is over.

 

iv.computer education

               Self financing computer courses are available in the college on a joint venture with M/s computer point for the benefit of bonafied students.

 

               Teaching in various certificate courses and P.G.D.C.A are imported and the certificate shall be awarded on the basis of there results in the examination.

 

               The application form and details of course (Theory & Practical) including the fee structure shall be provided by the computer unit of the college on payment of requisite fees.

 

               The above provisions are made under the instructions of the director, Higher Education, Orissa. Hence, any matter of dispute or grievance should only be brought to the notice of the director, Higher Education through the institution. Students are to opt. for the course on their own.

 

D.18.SUBJECT/GROUP COMBINATION

a)     The Principal reserves the right to disallow any particular combination of subjects

Subsequently after the admission without assigning any reason.

b)            Any particular subject combination of subjects shall not be allowed automatically if less than 8 students are admitted offering that particular group of subjects/subject

NOTE : Restrictions.

1.          No teaching provision is available for M.I.L. other than Oriya. However a student can retain respective M.I.L. of his/her choice or Alt English.

2.          Teaching facility may be extended for Alternate English if minimum 16 students opt for the same.

3.    English honours students are not allowed to offer Oriya and Sanskrit as elective     .           

subject.   

D.19. SELECTION OF HONOURS.

a)    Honors s election will be made  on  the  basics of merit. Applicants  must  specify

choice of their Honours subject carefully in order preference in the application form.

b)          Selection  of honours  will be governed by rules and regulation provided by Govt. from Time to time. Special consideration as per G.B resolution 1998 may be allowed as Per the directive of the principal to the admission committee.

c)          A student securing minimum 40% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in 4th Optional in highersecondary examination and 40% marks in the connected subject as applicable will be eligible for selection into honours.

d)          Names of selected students will be notified in the notice board in order of merit(subject Wise) for admission into various honours subjects specifying a date line for payment Of required fees failing which no claim for honours seats will be entertained.

D.20.CHANGE OF SUBJECT/SUBJECTS/COMBINATION

Change of subject/subjects/ combination shall be allowed on an application received with in15

days after the last date of admission. No change shall be allowed thereafter. Hence due care should be taken while filling col. In application form.

 

 

D. 21. TUITION FEES.

Each student will have to pay the tuition fees per month at the following rate

NOTE: - I

       1)  The above rate of tuition fees is inclusive of additional fees of Rs 1/- to be collected from the students admitted into Hons. Subjects.

       2)  Tuition fees etc will be collected in two terms every year failing which the names of the students will be stuck off. (The tuition fees for 2/3/6/ months shall be collectedat the time of admission.

       3)  Girl students and SC/ST students are exempted from paying tuition only SC/ST students are required to produce caste certificate from Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahasildar.

       4)  Those who will not pay tuition fees etc. on due date defaulter fine of Rs. 5/- will be collected along with normal fees on subsequent date of collection.

       5)  Those who will not pay tuition fees etc. on notified date their names will be stuck off from the College  Roll and admission fees equal to the tuition fee per month shall be collected at the time of readmission in addition to the fines as mentioned in Para 4 above.

NOTE: - II

       1)  Tuition fees etc. as applicable shall be added at the time of admission in respect of 1st term (June to Nov).

       2)  Migration fees shall be collected from the candidate passing from other Board/University as applicable (Rs.50/- or Rs.40/-).

       3)  Fees paid once will not be refunded/nor can be adjusted in any manner.

 

Additional fees to be collected after the concerned selections are made

       1)  Additional Fees for job oriented self financing subject shall be collected as detailed

             below in respect of First year Admission.
